How do I become an instructor?

Once you have completed both Basic and Advanced classes, you may apply to become an assistant instructor and your request will be reviewed and presented to the instructors for decisions.

What should I bring with me to the class?

Here is what we recommend bringing with you:

1- Canteen/ camel back hydration system.
2- Flashlight.
3- Compass, good quality.
4- Camp chair.
5- Small Backpack or gear bag.
6- Military-type poncho or rain
jacket.
7- Coleman Lantern, best to use fuel
type (If You Have One)

8- Measuring device.
9- Toilet articles to include toilet
paper and shower shoes.
10- Notepad and pencil.
11- Basic first aid kit.
12- Insect & tick repellent.
13- Any item you would take camping or hiking for your comfort.

Are MTA classes available to CIVILIANS?

MTA classes are limited on a first-come-first-serve basis with first responders having priority due to limited available training slots.
